Farewell
Well, here we are. Seated at Seatac, waiting to board our plane to Tokyo. It’s a bit surreal, and we keep saying to ourselves, “what the HELL are we doing?!” But we’re also excited for this adventure to finally begin.
The past few days have been a crazy whirlwind of seeing friends and family, packing, and preparing the house for guests. Our belongings have all been put in storage, the house cleaned and pretty bare for guests, and loose ends tied up.
We had a moment before leaving the house this morning, looking at our house, telling it we’ll miss it, and saying one more “what the HELL are we doing?!” It’s bittersweet. We love our house and our lives in Seattle, but something is pulling us away, so we’re going. We have no idea what the future brings, but right now I’m feeling very grateful for this opportunity and to have an amazing partner in life and this adventure.
See you (not so) soon, USA!
